Abstract

This helmet is of the type comprising a crown 2, 3 intended to cap the top part and the sides of the head and the nape of the neck of the wearer, and having a crest 5, that is to say a central longitudinal rib projecting from its outer face. According to the invention, it is equipped with a face-protecting screen 14 which is at least partially retractable inside the crown 2 of the helmet and which comprises a central longitudinal hump 15 permitting the passage and the accommodation of the wearer's nose, whilst the crest delimits, at least in the front part of the helmet, a groove 6 which is open inwards and towards the front of the helmet and which serves to at least partially accommodate the hump 15 of the screen 14 when the latter is in a retracted position.

1. - Protective helmet, of the type comprising a cap (2,3) intended to come over the upper part of the user's head, the lateral faces and the nape thereof, and having a crest (5) , -that is to say a median and longitudinal rib projecting from its external face, characterized in that it is equipped with a protective face shield (14) which, retractable, at least partially, at the inside the cap (2) of the helmet, has a central and longitudinal boss (15) allowing the passage and housing of the nose of the user, while the crest delimits, at least in the front part of the helmet, a groove ( 6) open towards the inside and towards the front thereof, serving to house, at least partially, the boss (15) of the screen (14) when the latter is in the retracted position.

2. - Helmet according to claim 1, characterized in that the front part (2) of the outer shell of the helmet, that is to say the part located in front of a substantially median transverse plane, is slightly curved lower than that of the rear part (3) of the helmet, the connection between the two parts of the outer cap being produced by a surface (4) located substantially in the transverse median plane of the helmet, the helmet being doubled inside and in its front part dtun cap section (7) extending the rear part (3) of the outer cap, and delimiting with the front part of the outer cap a housing for the retraction of the screen.

3. - Helmet according to claim 2, characterized in that the articulated mounting of the screen (14) is carried out on the section of inner cap (7), before mounting -of the latter in the outer cap (2, 3 ).

4. - A helmet according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the end (16) of the face shield (14) located behind in the direction of introduction thereof to the inside the cap (2), does not retract inside of it and is slightly curved outwards like a spoiler.

5. - A helmet according to claim 4, characterized in that one end (16) of the screen forming a spoiler, is tinted so as to be darker than the rest of the face shield (I 4).

6. - A helmet according to any one of claims 2 to 5, characterized in that, on the cap - inside (7) is pivotally mounted a second screen (8) which, disposed- between the face shield (14) and the inner cap

7. A helmet according to claim 6, characterized in that it

has velvet brushes (23, 25, 27) or rubber lips

chouc between the outer shell (2) and the face shield (14), between

the face shield (14) and the eye shield (8), and between the eye shield

(8) and the inner cap (7).

8. - A helmet according to any one of claims 2 to 8,

characterized in that the connecting surface (4) between the two

parts, respectively front (2) and rear (3) of the outer cap,

is provided with perforations (18).

9. - helmet according to claim 8, characterized in that the inner cap section (7) comprises perforations (19) adjacent to some of those (18) formed in the connection zone (4) between the two parts (2, 3) of the outer cap.

10 - Helmet according to all of claims 8 and 9, characterized in that it comprises perforated blades (20) slidably mounted along the perforated areas of the internal cap (7) and the connection surface (4) between the two parts (2, 3) of the external cap, the positioning of these blades allowing the different perforations to be placed in coincidence or not to ensure communication of the interior volume of the helmet with the exterior.
