Abstract

An endless band passes over two horizontal drums, the lower drum being rotated by a motor and reduction gear, and is stretched taut by adjustment of a screw in a vertical slot in each side wall of the case. Information on the forward-facing part of the band is rendered visible through a transparent screen by light from two vertical luminous tubes. The dark-tinted longitudinal edges of the band are pierced with holes, one for each announcement. Light from one of the tubes through such a hole falls on a photocell connected to an electronic timing circuit which governs the starting and stopping of the motor. The luminous tubes are disposed between the front and back parts of the advertisement band.
