Abstract

The hoarding comprises a housing with a window through which a moving band is displayed as it is moved automatically and controlled by photoelectric cells. The band is made from a number of sections, joined together by bars (60), generally rectangular in shape, having central apertures (61) and detachable strips (70) along their edges.Each strip has a series of equally-spaced studs (71) along its length, shaped to fit into corresp. holes along the edges of the bar to fix one edge of the moving band between them. Each of the holes along the edge of the bar can have a projecting collar, and the studs equipped with rings to fit over them. The band is moved to one side or the other when in operation by means of drums driven by electric motors.

Improvements to display devices of the type comprising a casing (1) of generally parallelepipedal shape with a front face (5) pierced with a large window (9), a first vertical drum (12) on which a portion is wound a strip (10) formed of several sections assembled end to end, and the other part of which is wound on a second vertical drum (15), vertical rollers (13, 14) for guiding said strip (10) facing the window (9), means for controlling the horizontal movement of the strip (10) in one direction or the other, means for controlling the stopping of the strip in determined positions and comprising a photoelectric cell (G) for approaching in a direction of travel working in reflection with a patch provided on the strip (10), a photocell (D) for approaching in an opposite direction of travel and working in reflection with an pad provided on said strip (10 ) and a third centering photocell (C) controlling the stop and working on a reflector situated on the side of the strip (10) opposite to that on the side where said third cell is located, said improvements being characterized in that the strip sections (10) are assembled by connecting bars (60) of generally rectangular shape having, in the central central part, openings (61) and, in the vicinity of each longitudinal edge, a removable tongue (70), each removable tongue having a series of regularly spaced studs (71) intended to force-engage in corresponding holes (62) in the bar.

2. Improvements to display devices, according to claim 1, characterized in that each stud (71) is terminated by a head (72) and the holes (62) of the bar (60) have a flared end.

3. Improvements to display devices, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that each hole (62) of the bar (60) is on the side intended to receive the tongue (70) bordered by a bead (76) intended , when the stud is placed, to be worn against the tongue (70), while each stud (71) is surrounded by a ring (74) circumscribing the bead.

Improvements to display devices, according to claim 1, characterized in that the means for controlling the running of the strip (10), in one direction or the other, comprise two electric motors (25) each driving a drum (12, 15), each motor (25) being disposed at the lower part of the casing (1) and comprising, wedged on its output shaft, a pulley (26) which drives, by a belt (24), a pulley (27) wedged on a shaft (28) suitably guided in a bearing (29) of the lower part of the casing (1), said shaft being extended upwards by a grooved pivot (30), the casing comprising, in its part upper, two plates (35) fixed by screws (34) and supporting, each, suitably guided in a bearing (36) a vertical grooved pivot (37), each pivot (37) being aligned vertically with the corresponding pivot (31) located at the bottom, while each drum (12, 15) is integral with each e x end of a flange (18, 19) pierced with a grooved hole (21) intended to cooperate with the grooves of the pivots.
