Description

The present invention relates to a strip display panel. unending. The invention relates more particularly to a display panel endless belt, rotated by pausing when the posters, for example advertising, carried by the endless band are opposite a display window.

It is known from documents EP 0 253 033 and EP 0 048 353 including ribbon display panels allowing a ribbon having displays to unfold from a winding position on a lower roller for winding on an upper roller. This kind of panels, to take into account the relative speed variations that must have the rollers to drive the ribbon in a taut manner, includes general two drive motors and electronic logic ensuring these variations. These roller speed compensation devices are complex and make these panels expensive.

Furthermore, the fixing of the posters on the mobile tape of the panels of the prior art is unsatisfactory. In fact, generally posters are stuck on the ribbons which does not allow a change fast and repeated posters displayed.

It is also known endless belt devices driven by rotary rollers comprising means for maintaining the tension of the bandaged. However, these means of maintaining the tension of the belt are complex and expensive.

An object of the invention is to provide a display panel to endless band of simple structure allowing the exhibition of posters interchangeable and overcoming the drawbacks of the prior art.

This object is achieved by the fact that the strip display panel without end stretched between two parallel drums rotatably mounted in a frame and intermittently driven by an electric motor, the frame has means for lighting the portion of the exposed strip, the endless strip being transparent and comprising transparent housings, or pockets, intended to host posters or information supports.

According to another particular feature, the frame housings intended for two ends of at least one of the drums are oblong, the panel comprising means making it possible to modify the position of the drums in its oblong housings, so as to allow the adjustment of the distance between the drums and thereby the tension of the endless belt.

According to another particular feature, the endless belt is provided with position marker means cooperating with detection means located on the frame, the tape drive means comprising adjustable delay means ensuring, by means of signals delivered by the detection means, the running of the strip so that each poster is displayed for a determined and adjustable time.

Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading the description below made with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 represents a schematic and partial perspective view of the frame carrying the mechanisms of the display panel according to the invention,
  • FIG. 2 represents a perspective and schematic view of the frame of the display panel of FIG. 1 on which an endless strip is mounted,
  • FIG. 3 represents a schematic view from above, of a part of the endless strip of the display panel of FIG. 2, and illustrating the housings according to the invention intended for posters or information carriers.

The panel (1) consists of a frame (2) vertical of small thickness and substantially parallelepiped. The frame (2) is provided with horizontal flanges (20) at its horizontal edges upper and lower. The flanges (20) are located on the same side of the frame (2) constituting the front face (8), or exposed face, of the panel (1). The ends of each of the two flanges (20) each form a tongue (21A, 21B) of short length located in the plane of the flange (20), so that, when viewed from above, the flanges (20) have substantially the shape of a U. The two pairs of tabs (21A, 21B) located at the ends of the two vertical edges of the frame (2) are provided for mounting two cylindrical drums (3, 33) for driving an endless band (4) information support. The axes of symmetry of the drums (3, 33) being parallel to the vertical edges of the frame (2). A first drum (3) is pivotally mounted and fixed in translation between the two tongues (21A) of a first pair of tabs. To this end, and in a known manner, the two tabs (21A) are each provided with an orifice provided for a end of the axis of the drum (3). Each of the tabs (21B) of the second pair of tongues is provided with an orifice (5) or elongated housing, substantially parallel to the plane of the front face (8) of the frame (2). These orifices (5) elongated are intended for the ends of the axis of a second drum (33, figure 2). The elongated shape of the orifices (5) allows the translation of the second drum (33) relative to the first drum (3), in addition to its rotation around its axis. The tongues (21B) provided with the elongated holes (5) each also includes a support tab (15), intended for mounting a yoke system (16) allowing the position of the second to be adjusted drum (33) in the elongated holes (5). Each of the support legs (15) is located near the respective elongated opening (5), on the edge of the tongue (21B) forming the lateral end of the rim (20). Support legs (15) are substantially perpendicular to the plane of the flanges (20) and each oriented towards the outside of the frame (20). Each bracket (15) is provided with a hole intended for mounting, by means of a screw (17) and a nut (not shown), a stirrup (16) in L. Each of the two faces of the L-shaped stirrup (6) is provided with an orifice (26, 36). A first opening (26) of the bracket (6) is provided for mounting, by means of a screw system (17) and nut, of the stirrup (6) on the respective bracket (15). The second orifice (36) of the stirrup (6) is in turn provided for the respective end of the axis of the second drum (33, Figure 2). Thus, each bracket (6) is mounted on a respective tongue (21B), the second orifice (36) of each of the stirrups (6) being superimposed on the respective elongated orifice (5). Then the second drum (33) is pivotally mounted at both ends of its axis, through elongated holes (5), in the second holes (36) of the stirrups (6). Of this way, by screwing and unscrewing the screws (17), the operator moves the stirrups (16) along the elongated holes (5) of the tongues (21B). The displacement of stirrups (6) causes the ends of the second drum (33) to move in the elongated holes (5). In this way the operator can adjust the distance of the second drum (33) from the first drum (3), and by there, the tension of an endless strip (4, figure 2), display support, mounted between these. The endless band (4), consisting for example of plastic, is transparent and has housings (9, figure 3) transparencies, or pockets (9), intended to accommodate posters or supports information. The transparent pockets (9) intended to accommodate information support posters are each formed by a sheet (13) transparent plastic, folded and glued against the endless strip (4), level of three of its edges. For example, adhesive tapes (14) ensure the bonding of the edges of the sheets (13) forming the pockets (9). Of advantageously, and as shown in Figure 3, the vertical edges and opposite two adjacent sheets (13) are glued to the strip (4) by the same tape. Of course, the invention is not limited to this example of realization. Thus the adhesive bonding of the sheets (13) forming the pockets (9) can be replaced by a heat-bonding or any other known means. So by gluing the bottom edge and the two side edges of each sheet (13) against the endless strip (4), the opening of the pocket (9) transparent is located at its upper edge. The operator can thus easily slide information support posters into the pockets. The endless belt (4) is mounted on the frame (2) so that the two parallel portions of the stretched strip (4) are located on either side of the vertical plane containing the parallelepiped frame (2). That is to say that a stretched portion of the endless strip (4) passes opposite the face (8) front of the panel, while a second stretched portion of the tape is located opposite the rear face of the frame (not visible in the figures). The front face (8) of the frame comprises means (10) for lighting the portion of the strip (4) exposed. These lighting means are for example made up of neon lights (10) or any other light source. The panel (1) is provided with drive means (11) for intermittent rotation of drums (3, 33), the drums in turn driving the endless belt (4) stretched between these last. For example, and in a known manner, an engine electric (11), located on the upper edge (20) ensures the drive in rotation of the first (3) drum and, by a known system of pulleys and belts, the second (33) drum is also rotated. Well sure, other known means of driving the drums (3, 33) can be used. The base (12) of the frame (2) contains the electronic circuits of the means for driving the drums (3, 33), in particular means known timing (not shown) ensuring training by intermittent endless belt (4). For this purpose, the panel is provided with means (6) for detecting the position of the endless strip (4) allowing the means of training to pause when the posters carried by the endless strip (4) arrive opposite a window exposure. The detection means (6) consist of a cell photoelectric (6) located for example in the lower part of the face (8) front of the frame (2) and detecting marks formed on the strip (4). The position marks formed on the endless strip (4) are for example consisting of holes (7) formed on the lower edge of each of pockets (9). The delay means are adjustable by the user, so as to allow the choice of the length of the break marked by each poster that is on display. The base (12) of the frame (2) of the panel comprises a switch (18) for switching on the display panel. Advantageously, the frame (2) is intended to be housed in a housing (not shown) having a pivoting cover provided with an opening (27) symbolically represented in FIG. 2, of corresponding dimension to the size of the posters placed in the pockets (9) exposed. When the frame (2) is housed in the housing, the front face (8) of the frame is located opposite the opening (27) of the housing cover. The housing can for example having substantially the shape of a television case. Of preferred and non-limiting manner, closing the hinged cover of the case actuates the switch (18) for starting the panel. The actuation of the switch (18) ensures continuous operation of the display panel (1) by energizing the means (10) lighting and means (11) for intermittent driving of the drums (3, 33).

In a preferred embodiment of the display panel, the transparent endless strip (4) has three pockets (9) each having a height of about 50 cm and a width of about 36.5 cm. Therefore, the circumference of the endless belt will be around 110 cm. The spacing drums (3, 33) is determined by the circumference of the band (4) without end as well as by the diameter of these drums (3, 33). The frame (2) has as to him dimensions allowing him to be contained in a case having a height of 70 cm, width of 56 cm and thickness of 13 cm. Well sure, the opening (27) of the housing cover has a dimension corresponding to the size of the pockets (9). Preferably but in no way limiting, the longitudinal dimension of the housing is greater than the distance separating the external generators of the drums (3, 33), this distance separating the external generators of the drums (3, 33) corresponding to 1.5 times the length of posters. Similarly, the adjustable time delay of the means belt drive (4) can be chosen by the operator between 4 and 18 seconds for example. It is clear that this preferred embodiment is in no way limiting. Thus, the number and size of the pockets (9) for posters carried by the endless strip (4) may be different. In especially the endless band (4) can carry more than three pockets (9) transparencies for posters. Therefore, the dimensions of the strip (4) without end and frame (2) are adapted accordingly.
