Abstract
1. Transformer, especially of the explosion proof type, i.e. where the coils (14) of high and low voltage are provided in a metallic tray which is resistant to the pressure arising in case of an internal explosion of an explosive gaseous mixture and which prevents the transmission of the explosion to the surrounding atmosphere, said tray being formed of a lateral wall (5) and two covers (8, 9) which support the connecting boxes (20-22) of high and low voltage, and which tray is equipped with heat exchangers (23, 24, 25, 26), mounted head to tail at least approximately parallel to the axis of the lateral wall (5) and arranged with their receiving side, in the free space separating the coils from said wall, whereas their dissipating side is positioned beyond said covers at the outside of the tray, receiving (33) and dissipating (46) wings being provided, respectively, on the receiving and dissipating sides of the heat exchangers, characterized in that the heat exchangers (23, 24, 25, 26) are mounted between a central bearing (27) receiving the ends of two opposed heat exchangers and output clamps (41) traversed with light play by the heat exchangers and fixed on the covers (8, 9) of the tray (4).
