Abstract

Insulating clothing such as anoraks are assembled as two layers of impermeable or coated fabric linked by internal spacer strips to contain trapped or low pressure air. The internal fabric layer carries a hydrophilic coating, to suppress condensation, and an external coating of protective material. Used to keep the wearer warm during cold or exposed activities, e.g. skiing, motorcycling, water sports, etc., either as the body of the garment or as a lining. For an anorak-type garment, pref. the cavity between the inner and outer layers of fabric is subdivided, e.g. so that the back comprises one compartment, and the two halves of the front, opt. waistcoat pattern, are separate pockets. The sleeves or leggings are pref. provided with divergent annular beading to control and reinforce the folding of the garment opposite the joints of the limbs. Pneumatic liaison between the upper and lower zones of the sleeve or leggings may be maintained via an internal flexible tube.

Description

The present invention relates to protection

 The lining according to the invention has a suitable shape to adapt perfectly to the part of the body that it covers. We will reinforce the insulation by closely matching the body shapes: jacket lining, for its upper part, pants lining, for its lower part, sheath, ....

 It comprises, for example, a flexible composite structure as shown in FIG. 4, formed of an impermeable textile material 1, of suitable mechanical strength. The textile material 1 called to constitute the outside face of the lining is coated with a protective substance 2. The textile material 1 called to constitute the inside face has a water-repellent coating 3.

 The structure comprises, inside, spacers such as 4, preferably flexible, forming a spacer for maintaining a constant interval and thus avoiding the phenomenon of swelling.

 The water-repellent coating will be, for example, in the form of a fleece layer provided with asperities which reduces condensation. It prevents possible droplets of condensation from coming together and forming runoff.

 The lining according to the invention is shown as a jacket lining but it can just as easily affect the shape of a pants, sheath, or any other lining.

 It has two separately inflatable compartments: a back compartment 5 which can also serve as a mattress and a front compartment 6.

 For reasons of manufacturing convenience, provision may be made for the separation of the anterior compartment 6 into two separate inflatable compartments 7 and 8.

 The lining according to the invention may be produced in the manner of an undergarment of the T-shirt type or in the manner of an open jacket at the front. In the latter case, the longitudinal closure meeting at the front will be carried out by means of two interlocking closure bands 9 and 10 fitted to the separation edges dot the covering ensures sufficient solidity and good sealing.

 The closure strips may, where appropriate, be associated with self-adhesive pads.

 The sleeves 11 and 12 are short or long, preferably terminated for these by an elastic holding sleeve such as 13.

 The folds, at the level of the joints: birth of the arms, elbows, etc., consist of a bundle 14 of divergent sectors 15 formed, for example, by beads 1o separated by plates 17 in the manner of a bellows.

 If necessary, the pneumatic connection between the birth of the arm and the forearm can be improved by the interposition of a flexible conduit 18.

 The various variants described and shown are not only the only possible embodiments of inflatable interior protections which can be used as a lining for clothing. Direct variants and other embodiments without inventive contribution fall within the scope of this protection.

 This is the case for a lining conforming to or similar to the invention which would be used as external protection.

 1. Protection for clothing, more particu I ièretr.ent protective clothing such as anoraks and windbreaker, characterized in that it is in the form of an inflatable cicublure in several separate parts and in that its shape, adapted to the parts of the body which it covers, includes zones of folds developed at the level of the articulations.  2. Protection according to claim 1 characterized in that it is formed of a flexible composite structure consisting of two sheets of waterproof textile material (1), the sheet forming the inner face being provided with a water-repellent coating (3) and the sheet forming the outer face being coated with a protective substance (2).  3. Protection according to claims 1 and 2 characterized in that the two sheets are held together at intervals by spacers, preferably flexible  4. Protection according to claim 1 characterized in that it comprises at least two separately inflatable compartments, a rear compartment (5) and an rear compartment (6).  5. Protection according to claims 1 and 2 characterized in that the front compartment (6) is divided into two separate compartments (7) and (8).  6. Protection according to claim 1 characterized in that the fold, at each articulation, is constituted by a bundle (14) of divergent sectors (15) formed by beads (16) separated by dishes (17).  7. Protection according to claims 1 and 6 characterized in that the pneunatique connection between the birth of the arms and the forearm is improved by a flexible conduit (16).  8. Inflatable protection for use as an interior or exterior lining for protective clothing and tracksuits as a new product.
