Abstract

The annular seal prevents the rotation of a fitting (1) such as a dispenser mounted on and in the neck (2) of a container. It uses one plane (3) and cylindrical sealing faces (7,5), the first abutting the free neck edge (4), the second abutting the outer surface (8) of thefitting within the neck, and the last abutting the internal neck surface (6). The first face is pressed against the free edge by a collar (9) securing the fitting. The seal may take the form of a cylindrical sleeve with open ends, using walls of a 'U' section in radial planes to provide the two cylindrical sealing surfaces. An external radial flange may extend from the top of the outer leg of the 'U' to form the plane sealing face, the tip being bevelled (10) whilst the inside is stepped.
