Abstract

The seal (1) is used between a cylindrical vessel (2) and a screwed cover (3). It consists of a flat disc (4) with a locating recess (8) in the centre. The periphery of the sealing disc is split into two conical leaves (5,6). The periphery is joined to the disc by a thin section (7) which gives the outer section flexibility. The cover presses the inner surface (5a) of the upper leafs onto the face of the vessel. The inner surface of the other leaf deforms to seal onto the curved inner surface of the vessel.

Description
