Abstract

The vibrator-free, self-propelled combine harvester has a thresher drum, thresher basket and several separater drums. Each of the drums has a separating element held on support strips which extend in the longitudinal direction of the combine harvester. The last separating drum (3a) with its corresponding separating element (4a) is itself a component of a chopping device. A cutter strip with parallel, rake-type blades is fitted to the last separator drum (3a).

Description

Self-propelled combine harvester without agitators.

The invention relates to a self-propelled combine harvester without agitators, comprising a mixer, a concave and several separating drums arranged parallel one behind the other in the direction of transport and under each of which is respectively arranged a separating element which rests on support strips which extend in the longitudinal direction of the combine.

 In traditional combine harvesters, it is common to add a chopper if necessary, which grinds the threshed stalks and throws them back on the ground. However, given that each accessory for combine harvester, whatever its purpose, represents a significant investment, the invention proposes to provide a combine harvester of the type described above which allows chopping if necessary, without the need to add an additional chopper. This is obtained according to the invention thanks to the fact that the last separating drum, in the direction of transport of the material, possibly with the associated separating element, makes it -same part of a chopping device according to the invention, with the last separating drum, in the direction of transport, is associated a cutting strip comprising blades arranged in the manner of a rake parallel to each other.

So that these blades do not undergo too great deterioration when obstacles arise, for example a piece of wood or a stone, according to another characteristic of the invention they are elastically coupled to a tree.

To allow adaptation to different harvesting conditions or to completely eliminate the chopping process, the cutting strip is pivotally mounted and can be locked in one of several pivoting positions.

 According to another characteristic of the invention, the parts of the cover plates of the last separating drum which extend freely are toothed.

 From a construction point of view, cutters or individual cutting tools are interchangeably mounted on the parts which extend freely.

Advantageously, the last separating drum rotates at a speed different from that of the drums arranged upstream.

 To increase the chopping effect, the shaft on which the chopping blades are fixed can optionally be rotated.

 To obtain a constitution as compact as possible, the last separating element associated with the last separating drum has slots through which the chopping blades can pass, the shaft being arranged under the separating element.

 In order to be able to perfectly distribute the chopped material on the ground, in addition to the last drum, a distributor can be arranged in the form of a known straw ejector.

The present invention will be better understood with the aid of the following description of a preferred but nonlimiting embodiment shown in the appended drawings in which
- Figure 1 is a side view of the threshing and separation section of a combine
- Figure 2 is an enlarged representation of the part located in the circle in phantom in Figure 1; and
- Figure 3 is a view along arrow X in Figure 2.

 The reference 1 designates a mixer which cooperates with a concave 2 in a known manner. Downstream of these two threshing members are arranged several separating drums 3 with each of which is associated a separating element 4. These separating elements 4 are mounted on two support strips 5 parallel to each other and are locked to them in a manner not shown . Under the last separating drum 3a, in the direction of transport, several blades 7 are mounted resiliently, at a certain distance from each other, on a shaft 6. The shaft 6 itself is mounted in the side walls 8 and 9 of the combine harvester and one end is coupled to a lever 10 by means of which the shaft 6 and therefore also the blades 7 can pivot from a lower position, shown in phantom on the figure 2, in the position represented by solid lines.

 On the lever 10 is mounted a pin il which can be engaged, selectively in one of several holes 12 provided in the side wall 8, so that between the two extreme positions, the blades 7 can take several intermediate positions. As seen in Figure 3, the cover plates 13 of the separating drum 3a associated with the blades 7 are toothed at the parts 14 which extend freely and therefore form rakes which, during rotation, pass between the blades 7 in the high position. In a variant, it is naturally possible for example to also provide cutting strips passing through the parts 14 which extend freely, or also to interchangeably screw individual hardened steel discs.

Depending on the conditions of use, it may be advantageous to drive the separating drum 3a with a speed different from that of the drums 3. To better distribute the material hanged by the drum 3a and the blades 7, a rotating straw spreader 16 is mounted in the region of the outlet cover 15. In a variant of the assembly shown for the blades 7, these can also be arranged below the last separating element 4a, in the direction of transport, and pivot upwards through slots made therein.

 As goes without saying, and as it already follows from the foregoing, the invention is in no way limited to those of its embodiments and of application which have been more particularly envisaged, that it embraces, otherwise, all variants.

Claims (9)

1. Self-propelled combine harvester without agitators, comprising a mixer, a concave and several separating drums arranged parallel one behind the other in the direction of transport and under each of which is respectively arranged a separating element which rests on crimps supports which extend in the longitudinal direction of the combine harvester, characterized in that the last separating drum (3a), in the material transport direction, possibly with the associated separating element (4a), does same part of a chopping device.  2. Combine harvester according to claim 1, characterized in that the last drum (3a), in the direction of transport, is associated with a cutting strip (6, 7) provided with blades (7) arranged parallel to each other others like a rake. 3. Combine harvester according to claim 2, characterized in that the blades (7) are elastically coupled to a shaft (6).  4. Combine harvester according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the cutting strip  (6, 7) can pivot and be locked in one of several leveling joints. 5. Combine harvester according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the parts (14) of the cover plates (13) of the last separating drum (3a) which extend freely are toothed. 6. Combine harvester according to claim 5, characterized in that on the parts (14) which extend freely are interchangeably mounted cutting strips or individual cutting tools. 7. Combine harvester according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the shaft (6) can be rotated.  9. Combine harvester according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the last separating element (4a) has slots through which the blades (7) can pass, the shaft (6) being below of the element (4a). 10. Combine harvester according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that downstream of the drum (3a) is disposed a distributor (16).
