Abstract

The fallen fruit gatherer has one large (B) and one small (A) rotor mounted above each other with the smaller rotor moving over the ground. A curved grille (9) extends in front of the lower rotor and extends, at its upper end, into a curved guide plate (3) which directs the collected fruit into the upper part of the machine toward a leaf separator (C). The separator comprises a rotating cage which permits the removal of dead leaves. A downwardly inclined plane (10) delivers the material onto the cage and another inclined plane (11) receives the fruit from the cage under the influence of a stream of air produced by the blades of the large rotor.

Description

Fruit harvester on the ground
The principle of the present invention is the combination of two superposed rotors A and B 9
A: Of small diameter, it is located at ground level I1 is composed of two reinforced, rigid rubber blades, bolted directly to the tube-axis (I). At 400 revolutions / minute it allows to take off from the ground, by a rapid projection of the fruits on the comb (2) and from there to the large rotor
B: Large diameter, it allows the elevation of the fruit in height to access the upper part of the wall (3) and the stop grid (4) (drop point). I1 also consists of rubber blades (5), but more flexible than the aforementioned rotor, and in addition they are cut into strips. They are also bolted to the axle tube (6). Two pulleys, centered on the axle (6), drive:
On the one hand down, the rotor (A), by the belt (33) and on the other hand, the belt (27) up. By centrifugal force, the fruits are picked up by the rotor (B).

The comb (2), made up of 1 cm rubber feet. thick, is placed in front of the small rotor (A) I1 guides the fruit in height towards the large rotor (B) by making a stop, or counter-blow. The distance between the legs being 4 cm. , it allows the free passage of fruit, depending on its size. This comb can be adjusted in height along the line (7), starting from the axis point (8). This device allows maintenance in front of the small rotor. A handle placed on the handlebars allows its operation.

The retaining grid (9), in flat irons, retains the wood, the branches, allows removal after declutching. It also allows automatic cleaning of the soil, etc.

The circular wall (3) guides the fruit towards the upper part. The grid (4), curved downwards stops the projection of the fruits and leaves, which are folded over the first part of the inclined plane (IO) leaving a passage. The ventilation produced by the large rotor therefore passes through this grid, made up of fine fingers.
The tables in inclined plane, consist of two parts (IO) and (II) t one raised relative to the other
The cylindrical cage (C), centered on the axis (I2), is placed between the two parts, forming a step of descent. The fruits falling on the first table, roll by their own weight on the rotating cage and from there on the second table to the collecting basket (I3)
By its direction of rotation, the rotary cage drives the leaves towards the downspout (I4), located below between the two carrying wheels. These leaves return to the ground.

On the other hand, the air flow, passing through the grid (4), is recovered by the wall (I5) and folds down on the rotating cage (arrow I6). In other words, the ventilation (arrow I6) passing through the grid (4) and the rotating cage, plate the leaves on the upper part of the cage and peel them from below, to fall into the chute (I4 dotted)
The arrangement of the rubber flap (I7) completes the cleaning efficiency. Windbreaker (I8) prevents backflow
The basket holder, fitted with swivel wheels, is placed behind the machine. Between the two handlebars, a stop device (31) allows the basket to be changed
The motor: Pulley (I9) is placed between the two load-bearing wheels of the machine (20).
With the holes (21), drilled in the tube-axis of the swivel wheel (22), placed at the front of the machine, it allows the height adjustment of the pick-up rotor (A), from the ground
The motor pulley (I9) activates the large reduction pulley (23) of the large rotor, by the belt (24)
The start and stop clutch is obtained with the tension roller (25)
Are adapted on the tube-axis (I2) s IO: the freewheels (26) driving the crowns of the carrying wheels on each side of the machine 20: the cylindrical cage (C) having the width of the two inclined planes (59) , eut (II) 30: the pulley with 3 stages making it possible to obtain different speeds (not quoted)
The device for reversing gears and speed reducers are not mentioned. They are located above the grid (4), (being irrelevant) belt (27)
The free wheels centered on the axis (I2) actuate the load wheels (20). Those provided with crowns (28), by chains (29)
This carrier wheel drive device makes it possible to obtain a semi-differential, that is to say that if with the handlebars (30) of the machine if one turns to the right or to the left, the wheel which will turn the faster, will spin the freewheel corresponding to the crown in a vacuum, by the means of transmission of the drive chain distributed over each wheel, when the machine is running in a straight line
