Abstract

For locking/unlocking a petrol filler flap (1) of a car having a central locking system, an actuator (15) is connected to a movable shaft (18). A latch (9) positioned alongside and interdependent with the shaft (18) passes through a guide (11) in the panel (10) and co-operates with a catch (7) on the flap (1). The latch can move between a first (21) and a second stop (23) fixed to the shaft (18) against the action of a spring (22), allowing the latch (9) to be released using an arm (24) if the actuator (15) should fail.
