Abstract

The housing for a fluorescent light comprises a reflector flanked by two similar decorative panels with end panels. The reflector has a tubular section serving as a support for the lamp fitting, and housing supply cables, and two reflective panels symmetrically positioned on either side of the tubular section. The panels are of sheet metal bent at an angle to partially enclose the tube, and are painted an appropriate colour to reflect the light produced by the tube. The panels have screw holes for fastening to the end panels. The end panels have tabs at right angles to their surfaces for attachment to the other components, and to support the decorative side panels. For longer light housings several reflectors may be attached end to end with end panels on the extreme ends of the assembly.

1. Casing for lighting apparatus, the latter comprising a metal structure clamping support to at least a fluorescent tube, to the supply apparatus, to the wiring as well as to the tube connection elements, this casing being characterized by the fact that it comprises fixing parts made integral with said metal structure and serving as a support for at least one removable decorative element disposed along said device.

2. Covering for a lighting device according to the first claim characterized by the fact that said fixing parts also serve as support for at least one end plate to aesthetically hide the corresponding end of the device.

3. Cover for a lighting device according to the first claim, characterized in that the said fixing parts have means for serving as a support for the grid of a light scattering device.

4. Covering for a lighting device according to the first claim, characterized in that the fixing parts include parts to make them integral with said structure and parts arranged to determine mounting and holding reliefs of said decorative element, the form of these reliefs and their arrangement being provided so that this element is assembled or disassembled by simple elastic deformation without requiring the addition of any additional tool.

5. Covering for a lighting device according to the second claim, characterized in that the fixing pieces each have a tab for associating the corresponding fixing piece with said end plate.

6. Cover for lighting apparatus according to the first claim and also comprising a means for reflecting the light emitted by the tube, integral with said metal structure, this covering being characterized in that the fixing parts each have a lug comprising a cut in relation to the profile of the reflection means of the fluorescent tube so that said cut and said profile cooperate in the immobilization of said parts.

7. Dressing for lighting apparatus according to the fourth claim characterized in that the reliefs used for mounting and maintaining said decorative element result from bends made at appropriate angles.

8. Cover for a lighting device according to the third claim, characterized in that the end of the fixing parts opposite to that used for the fixing comprises at least one folding forming a tab which cooperates with said grid and the eyelash maintains it. .

9. Covering for a lighting device according to the first claim characterized in that each end of the device is associated with a pair of fastening parts disposed respectively on each longitudinal side of the device.

10. Cover for a lighting device according to the first and fourth claims, characterized in that said removable decorative element consists of a blade of elastically deformable material whose length corresponds to that of the lighting device, the width being related with the said reliefs for mounting the fixing parts, the face of this blade oriented towards the inside of the apparatus comprising elastically deformable parts to cooperate with the said reliefs and the face directed towards the outside having an adequate variety of decorative shapes and colors adapted to customers' choice.

11. Covering for lighting apparatus consisting of a set of several unitary lighting fittings in accordance with the first and second claims and arranged end to end, said covering being characterized by 16 fact that between the fixing parts arranged at the ends of this set of lighting fixtures, a pair of these same pieces is fitted at each intermediate junction of two adjacent fixtures, said pieces each being fixed simultaneously in one and the other of these two fixtures to serve as a splint to these.

Cover for a lighting device according to the ninth and tenth claims, characterized in that at least one decorative strip is mounted by elastic deformation on the end fasteners but also on the intermediate fasteners serving as fishplates at the junction between two adjacent fixtures, said blade having a length corresponding to the length of said set of lighting fixtures.
