Abstract

The overlapping roofing tile consists of a rectangular body (6) of synthetic material which has, along part of one of its longer edges, a locating tongue (2) whose outer edge carries a lip. The underside is recessed with a raised border (5) and has ribs (4) which extend from the side next to the tongue to a point slightly greater than the width of the tongue from the other side. Pref. the tile increases in thickness from its top edge to its lower edge due to a progressive increase in the height of the border (5) and a corresponding increase in the size of the lip on the tongue (2).
