Abstract

The assembly consists of a pallet and a container. The pallet is made up of base strips (46) which support cross members (41,42). The decking strips (44) are parallel to the base. The container is made up of a cardboard box. The box has a folded base and the side edges are stapled down one side. The box has a lide made from four flaps (16,17,18,19). The box has four vertical stips (20,21,22,23), which extend down the sides of the pallet. The box is removably fixed to the base using small pieces of hooked-loop fastening fabric.

It is common practice, in the packaging of a box containing products to be stored or transported, to have the @@ ss @ supported by a pallet, a building site or another basic platform @ci @@ close) designated in the description simply by "pallets") @our facilitate movement of the full box by mechanical nanotechnology means. The characteristics: of the invention mentioned above, as well as others, will appear more clearly on reading the following description of exemplary embodiments, said description being made in relation to the accompanying drawings, among which:

 Box 1 is suppowsée made from a single piece of fiberboard which has been folded along the basic fold lines 2, 3, 4 and 5, the side fold lines 6, 7, 8 and 9, the top fold lines 1C, 11, 12 and 13. In addition to the fold line 9, a cut edge 14 is provided with another cut edge 9A which coincides with the fold line 9. The parts which overlap; the lines e and 14 are fixed together by means of staples 15. The top of the box is formed of panels 1E, 17 18 and 19 @ which are shown partially open, the bottom of the box being formed of identical panels which are shown closed.

Pallet 40 is of the four-way entry type and includes spacers 41, 42 and 42, upper floor boards 44, cross members 45 and lower floor boards 46. The length of each of the upper boards 44 corresponds to the length of the fold line 3, while the length of each of the crosspieces 45 corresponds to the length of the fold line 4. The blocks 41 and 43 are placed at a distance from the ends of the upper boards 44 equivalent to the distance which exists between the plywood strips 20 and 21, on the one hand, and the fold lines 9 and 8, on the other hand.

 Thus, when the box 1 is positioned symmetrically on the pallet 40, each end which protrudes from the strips 20 or 21 falls in front of a block 41.

 Fig. 3 shows a pallet 48 with two symmetrical inlets which includes upper floor boards 44 and support battens 49, which fulfill both the role of the crosspieces and that of the blocks 41 of the pallet 40. In this variant construction, the battens are aligned with the ends of the plywood strips.

The simple sandwich effect of the ends 20a and 22b on a pair of blocks 41 of the pallet 4C is sufficient to prevent any displacement of the box relative to the pallet in the direction of the crosspieces 45. The friction between the internal surface of the ends 20a and 22a, on the one hand, and the external surfaces of the blocks 41 can somewhat prevent a relative movement in the direction of the boards 44, as well as a vertical relative movement. However, the friction between these adjacent surfaces is increased by fixing thereto, by means of an adhesive or spikes, pieces 50 of fabric of the "Velero" type. A piece of this fabric has the property of clinging tightly to another piece of the same fabric, when these pieces are pressed against each other.

Therefore, when using the assembly, we exert on the plywood strips a slight pressure towards the adjacent blocks of my nitre that the hooking potential of the "Velcro" is fully manifested.

Ur.e once this mutual attachment has been established, the whole of the body and the pallet can withstand forces tending to dislodge the body inadvertently, these forces may be significant, either horizontally or in the vertical direction.

 However, when it is necessary to separate the body from the pallet, the two pieces of fabric can be spread apart by applying a relatively weak traction on the ends of the plywood strips. The snap effect is then removed. The tightening cycle for hanging and spacing for hanging can be repeated many times before the self-adhesive property of the fabric decreases.

In another exemplary embodiment, the "Velcro" fabric is replaced by a material of the type which comprises a piece of hard plastic sheet having on one of its faces thin barbs in the form of rods, the barbs engaging in those of another piece of the same material, when tightened face to face.

 When the loading of the boxes is finished, the box and the pallet can be even more completely coupled, for example by using one or more steel straps, or by enclosing it partially in a shrink-wrapped package of thermoplastic sheet.

 The assembly of the present invention can be applied to other types of crates, including non-collapsible crates with wooden bottoms. Likewise, it can be applied to pallets of other types, such as the two-entry type and, in fact, to building sites or loading platforms on casters.

The box is not necessarily foldable and can be made of a material other than fiberboard.

 In other exemplary embodiments, the strips, the lower ends of which protrude, may occupy only part of the height between the bottom of the box and the top of the latter. The total length of the strips may not exceed the height of the side walls of the boxes (from the bottom to the top) so that I can stack calsses, separated from their pallets, on top of each other, the strips of the top box not covering those of the bottom case.

 Other embodiments may be provided to obtain the ends protruding below the body. Thus, one can use brackets fixed under the bottom of the box.

Claims (5)

 1) Assembly for container comprising a crate and a pallet, the crate being carried or intended to be carried on the pallet, characterized in that the crate has at least one part protruding at the bottom which, when the crate is on the pallet, covers an edge of the pallet, said edge and said projecting part each being provided with a piece of adhesive material of the "Velero" fabric type, so that the box can be fixed, in a removable manner, on the pallet. 2) An assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that the part or parts which overlap are each formed by the end of an elongated element the upper part of which is fixed to a side wall of the body.  3) An assembly according to claim 2, characterized in that each elongated element is fixed to the outer surface of said side wall. 4) Box intended to be supported in an assembly according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that at least a part which projects below covers, when the box is in place on the pallet, the edge of the pallet , this part being provided with a said piece of adhesive material, so that the box can be fixed, in a removable manner, on the pallet.  5) Pallet intended to support a box in an assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that it has an edge which is covered by at least one part of the box, when the latter is on the pallet, and which is coated of a said piece of adhesive fabric, so that the box can be fixed, in a flexible way, on the pallet.
