Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to prefabricated panels intended for construction having high qualities of thermal and acoustic insulation
Cork is known and is used in the form of granules, in the natural or expanded state, or in the form of agglomerated panels using pitch as a binder, in order to form thermally and phonically insulating walls.
However, the implementation of such insulation is complex.
When it is indeed cork in the form of granules, its use requires its introduction between two walls initially built and reserving between them the necessary space. This successive construction of two walls and the introduction of granules between them are all operations which make the construction expensive. In addition, it is noted that the granulate thus introduced undergoes a certain compaction over time, which removes the insulation from the upper part of the book
This last drawback was eliminated by the use of agglomerated sheets of cork granules, which also facilitated the implementation of this insulating element. But this did not eliminate the obligation to build a masonry wall or prefabricated on both sides of the agglomerated plates, these, linked with pitch, cannot by themselves constitute an interior or exterior facing. And these walls constructed on either side of the cork agglomerate plates must have their own rigidity, the intermediate insulating plate not constituting a stiffening element of the assembly
The object of the invention therefore aims to avoid these drawbacks. In this one, in fact, the agglomerated sheets of cork granules are integrated into a composite, flat, rigid assembly which in itself constitutes a wall. final which has sufficient resistance to buckling, and which also has on both sides a finished external surface condition which allows them to be put in place without requiring any finishing work both externally and internally. Such a method therefore makes it possible to using granules of cork more commonly than hitherto in construction as elements constituting a particularly effective thermal and sound insulation, without the choice of this material causing a complexity of implementation and an increase in cost price
The device which is the subject of the present invention is therefore in the form of rigid, composite panels, essentially formed of a plate of agglomerated cork granules made rigid and waterproof by coating on each of its faces, as well as on the edges, '' a uniform layer of polyester resin reinforced with woven or non-woven glass fibers. This reinforced polyester facing, which constitutes the rigid frame of the panel, can also constitute its external facing. But it can also receive a colored plastic coating, smoothed or granite, which constitutes the aesthetic coating, this coating being able to be put during the prefabrication or after installation of such a panel.
The panels thus formed can be used as exterior or interior lining of an existing wall, to which they can adhere by simple interposition of a water-repellent plastic coating, such as silicone coatings.
According to another embodiment, and in order to give even more rigidity to the panel of agglomerated cork granules, the panel is obtained by spraying onto the particles of the expanded cork granulate with a thin layer of polyester resin sufficient for the Between; ber perfectly. This spraying is then followed by the molding of the agglomerate thus obtained so as to produce plates which can be calendered to present a sufficiently uniform surface condition.
These various operations are carried out during the polymerization of the binder, the product being subjected to a vibration necessary to avoid the presence of intergranular vacuum.
The panels thus obtained and perfectly calibrated are more rigid than bonded with pitch according to the conventional method. And they are naturally better prepared to ensure the adhesion of the finishing coatings of polyester resins with which their faces may be provided. The spraying of polyester resin with which the granules have been misted is sufficient to ensure their immobilization after polymerization but do not form in the bulk of the agglomerate a mesh sufficiently rigid to constitute an appreciable sound bridge.
The panels thus formed, and facing as it was
said, can be used either alone or integrated into components
more complex sites. In fact, a panel of water-repellent and flame-retardant cellulosic particles, or a honeycomb panel, can be coated on both sides with a panel of agglomerated cork prepared and facing.
as previously indicated and will be linked to each of them by a coating of polyester resin so as to form a rigid self-supporting assembly which
may be used to make the final external walls of a
construction, playing the filling role between the horizon chaining
rate and the carrying poles of a building
These panels thus form simultaneously, without any other primer,
the exterior and interior siding of said building
In order to allow the use of more varied interior decorations, the interior facing of chipboard used for the prefabrication of said composite elements can be constituted by a laminated plasterboard, this material allowing the application of any interior wall decoration that the polyester coating reinforced with glass fibers could. don't admit
The bonding of these facings to the panel of cork agglomerates can be obtained by means of water-repellent and flame-retardant adhesive of the silicone type or by means of elastomeric resin.
We understand that we thus have a light, rigid, water-repellent material, which constitutes an excellent thermal and sound insulator, and which is easy to apply on large surfaces, being in the form of panels which can be either applied to existing masonry walls without requiring any other new construction to contain them, or used to constitute the final wall themselves, requiring no other construction of any kind when used as filling of a framework
It is understood that the scope of the invention is not limited to the example or examples which have been described therein, any variant considered to be equivalent cannot modify its scope. Thus, such an agglomerate of cork, according to any of the embodiments above provided, could be used for the manufacture of any other construction element than panels.
The invention can be used for the construction of heat-insulated buildings and for the heat-insulating arrangement of existing buildings
