Abstract

Insulation panels based on a combination of a layer of expanded polystyrene covered on at least one face with a layer of 'fibraglo' (fibrocement) are also lined with a layer of plasterboard to provide a smooth continuous surface impermeable to air. Pref. a moisture stop layer of e.g. metallic foil is also incorporated between the plasterboard lining and the cellular core: opt. an interlayer of plywood is also included. For insulating flat or sloping roofs or lining ceilings, typically as panels of 2 x 0.5 or 0.6 m with cores 20-200 mm thick and linings 10-50 mm thick, to provide a better looking and more durable surface than simply a coat of paint.

Description

The present invention relates to load-bearing composite insulating panels allowing the thermal insulation of building roofs.

Among the known materials of this kind, there are complexes generally associating a material with very high insulating power, of the cellular plastic material type, with one or two facings made of materials having good mechanical characteristics. Such composite panels can be used for thermal insulation of flat or inclined roofs. These panels generally have mechanical characteristics (in particular a flexural strength) sufficient to be used as carrier panels for sealing supports or carrier panels for roofing supports.

A family of these products consists of an expanded polystyrene core with two fibragglo siding (wood fibers agglomerated with a hydraulic binder). The thickness of the insulating core and the fibragglo facing is such that the desired thermal insulation and mechanical strength characteristics are achieved.

In general, these load-bearing composite panels are placed on the rafters constituting the roof. On the underside the insulating panels are visible and their surface condition remains rough; but they can also receive a finish, a paint or a coating.

Products of this kind have several drawbacks, with regard to
- the appearance of the facings: the surface stateX of the fibragglo is such that it is almost always necessary to install a finishing coating on the underside of the roof. A single coat of paint is not always sufficient and we are often required to use a plaster covering, paneling or facing hiding the appearance of the fibragglo,
- permeability to water vapor: known complexes of this kind do not have a vapor barrier screen,
- air permeability: the panels being laid with sharp joints and the fibragglo material being permeable to air due to its composition, the airtightness of the roof produced is not automatic.
o fully insured.

The composite insulating panel according to the invention makes it possible to avoid these drawbacks. Indeed, one of the faces of the insulating composite panel consists of a cardboard plasterboard which may include a vapor barrier screen.

The composite panel which is the subject of the invention comprises a core made of thermal insulating material, generally a cellular plastic foam with a thickness of 20 to 200 min. The upper facing is made up of a continuous layer of fibragglo (coniferous wood agglomerated with hydraulic binder), making it possible, for example, to directly build roofs made of channel tiles.

The lower facing can be made in different ways.

It is either a layer of fibragglo and a layer of cardboard plaster possibly provided with a vapor barrier screen, or a layer of cardboard plaster with or without vapor barrier, or a sheet of plywood and a layer of cardboard plaster with or without vapor barrier.

Les dimensions du panneau objet de l'invention sont en général de 2,00 m x 0,50 m ou0,60 m.The total thickness of the lower facing can vary from 10 to 50 mm. The dimensions of the panel that is the subject of the invention are generally 2.00 m x 0.50 m or 0.60 m.

The insulating composite panel as described above is generally manufactured in the factory by laminating the various constituents. On site, the panels according to the invention are laid with sharp joints and repointing is carried out subsequently on the underside, which makes it possible to form a smooth, continuous surface, air-impermeable.

-The accompanying drawing illustrates by way of example an embodiment of the panel according to the invention. As shown in section, the panel has a core of expanded polystyrene (1), an upper facing in fibragglo (2), a lower facing consisting of a layer of fibragglo (3), a screen steam (4) and a cardboard plasterboard (5).

The insulating panel, object of the invention, can be used in all cases where one wants to achieve thermal insulation of flat or inclined roofs using carrier insulating panels to obtain a smooth underside ready for paint or upholstery, constituting an air-impermeable surface and without visible joints, and providing a surface allowing, for example, to directly build roofs made of channel tiles.
