Description
The invention relates to a composite element with a carrier as the core, the surface of which is formed on at least one side by a decorative cover plate.
Such composite elements are used in the interior construction of buildings and for wall cladding, both indoors and outdoors.
The composite elements known up to now have a core serving as a carrier, the surface of which is preferably formed by decorative laminated panels which are glued to the carrier. Chipboard or blockboard is used as the carrier. The decorative laminates are connected to the carrier in gluing presses.
The decorative laminate panels used here have been known in the construction and furniture manufacturing industries for many years. They have a smooth or structured surface that is scratch and abrasion resistant. These decorative laminates can be subjected to strong mechanical and chemical stresses. They are therefore particularly predestined for the formation of the surface of composite elements. In addition, these decorative laminated panels can be produced with any decor and any color. They consist of a core made up of several layers of kraft paper soaked in phenolic resin. A decorative sheet is placed on top of it, which forms the visible surface. To protect the decor, a thin resin-rich overpress paper is added as the top layer. The stack thus formed is pressed at a temperature of 150 to 200 ° C and a pressure of 70 to 150 kp / cm2. The gluing of these decorative laminate panels with the above-mentioned carrier material is very time-consuming and costly. These composite elements are not particularly suitable for use outdoors or in damp interior rooms. This is due to the substrate used, which consists of chipboard or blockboard. This material shows significant dimensional changes after a certain period of time with the permanent influence of heat, cold and moisture. Gluing, with which the decorative laminate panels are connected to the carrier, can also be susceptible to these effects.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a composite element which remains dimensionally stable even under constant exposure to heat, cold and moisture and is also insensitive to pressure.
In a composite element of the type mentioned at the outset, the object is achieved in that the carrier is made of an inorganic material and is permanently connected to the cover plate by means of a rapidly curing, foam-like adhesive resin.
The carrier can be made of concrete or gas concrete. Cement, plaster or clay as well as asbestos cement are also suitable for its manufacture. The carrier can be designed as a plate or as a brick. Its surface is formed on at least one side by the decorative cover plate. The cover plate is preferably formed by a film, a veneer or a decorative laminate. To form its surface, the carrier can also be covered on one or more sides with one or more decorative cover plates. The connection between the carrier and the decorative cover plate is made using a polyurethane adhesive. For the production of the composite element, the decorative cover plate is arranged at a defined distance from the carrier. The space remaining between the carrier and the decorative cover plate is filled with the still soft, moist adhesive resin. Before the carrier is connected to the decorative cover plate, the surface of the plate facing the carrier is additionally roughened. This enables an improved connection between the foaming polyurethane adhesive and the decorative cover plate. The carrier material does not need to be treated because it has a very porous surface. The polyurethane adhesive used has a very high adhesive strength. The polyurethane adhesive remains dimensionally stable during drying. This means that the adhesive that has penetrated into the pores is bonded to the rest of the adhesive even in the hardened state. This ensures a permanent connection between the carrier and the decorative cover plate. In addition, the foaming polyurethane adhesive can compensate for unevenness on the surface of the carrier. The adhesive resin prevents moisture from penetrating to the surface of the carrier. The polyurethane adhesive has a relatively high compressive strength. However, this can be further increased by adding a filler. An organic and / or inorganic filler is preferably added to this adhesive resin. This can be granular, powdery or fibrous. The pressure resistance of polyurethane adhesive is also increased by glass or ceramic fibers, which are also added as fillers. The flame retardance can be adjusted by a special adjustment of the material composite5

Increase the compatibility of the composite element from B1 according to DIN 4102 to A2 = non-combustible.
The carrier used for the production of the composite element can be designed as a plate or as a brick. The beam can be reinforced with steel mesh in the usual way. If such composite elements are used for the construction of walls indoors and outdoors, then after the completion of the building, the walls can no longer be plastered, since their cladding is already formed by the decorative cover plate. A wall covering designed in this way is very stable. It can be permanently exposed to all weather conditions without any damage to the composite element being noticed even after years. The connection of the carrier with the cover plate is made exclusively by the adhesive resin. Additional gluing of the carrier to the decorative cover plate can therefore be completely dispensed with. As a result, the composite element is not changed by the constant exposure to heat. The surface of the decorative cover plate can be smooth or structured as desired. If a decorative laminate is used as the cover plate, the surface of the composite element can be provided with any pattern and color. It is possible, for example, to give the composite element the appearance of a clinker brick or a tile. Even composite elements whose surfaces should have the appearance of a wooden structure can be produced in this way.
The invention is explained below with reference to a drawing.
The figure shows a composite element 1 in section, which has a carrier 2 and a decorative cover plate formed from two decorative laminate panels 3 and 4. The carrier 2 is designed here as a plate. In the embodiment described here, the carrier 2 is made of gas concrete. The bottom and top of the carrier 2 are each coated with a decorative laminate 3 and 4, the butt joints 7 are in the lateral edge region of the carrier 2. The connection of the carrier 2 to the two decorative laminate panels 3 and 4 is preferably carried out via a foam-like adhesive resin 5 which can be quickly cured in air. The exemplary embodiment described here is a polyurethane adhesive. So that the composite element 1 receives a flat surface, the carrier 2 and the two decorative laminate panels 3 and 4 are glued in a pressing device (not shown here). Herein, the two decorative laminate panels 3 and 4 are arranged on both sides of the carrier 2, at a defined distance from it, parallel and area-wide to its bottom or surface. The distance between the carrier and the decorative laminate 3.4 is at least 0.5-3 mm. The spaces formed between the carrier 2 and the two decorative laminate sheets 3 and 4 are now filled with the polyurethane adhesive 5. This polyurethane adhesive dries out very quickly. The hardened adhesive resin 5 brings about a permanent connection between the carrier 2 and the two decorative layer 15 pressed material plates 3 and 4.
The adhesive force of this adhesive resin 5 is so great that no additional adhesive has to be used to connect the carrier 2 to the two decorative laminate panels 3 and 4. In order to increase the compressive strength of the foaming polyurethane adhesive 5, an inorganic and / or organic filler 6 can be added. The amount of filler that is added to the polyurethane adhesive depends on the desired strength of the composite element 1. Glass or ceramic fibers are e.g. suitable as fillers.
The two decorative laminate panels 3 and 4 are produced by the method described above. They are designed as flat plates. Your surface can be smooth or textured as needed. It is also 30 scratch and abrasion resistant. Your decorative pattern is freely selectable and can be colored as desired or provided with a single or multi-colored print.
The dimensions of the decorative laminate panels 3 and 4 can be chosen so large that they can also cover the lateral edge surfaces of the carrier 2, as shown in the figure.
In this case, the decorative laminate sheets 3 and 4 are bent into the shape required for this purpose before being glued to the carrier 2 under the action of heat and pressure.
Instead of the decorative laminate 3 and 4, a film or veneer can also be used to form the cover plate.
