Abstract

The ignition distributor housing comprises a hollow cylindrical box (17) which has a flange (19) extending from its top edge. The flange includes two widened portions (20) in which there are holes for fixing bolts. On the upper surface of the flange are four raised portions (21) lying in a circle with their inner edges in line with the inside of the cylindrical box. The cover for the box (10) comprises a disc having a flat rim which lies over the flange on the box. The rim has four raised areas (14) corresponding to the raised surfaces of the flange, serving to align the cover with the box. The central part of the cover is at a higher level than the rim, with a central opening and collar. The cover is made of thin thermoplastic material and has bolt holes corresponding to those in the box.
