Der innere Endabschnitt der Welle 3 ist mit einem Flansch 5 versehen, an den ein Läufer 6 angeschraubt ist. Der Läufer 6 besteht aus einem Isolierkörper 7, von dem ein Verteilerfinger 8 radial absteht. Aus dem freien Ende des Verteilerfingers 8 ragt eine Verteilerelektrode 9 heraus, die in einem bestimmten Abstand an Festelektroden vorbeibewegbar ist. Von den Festelektroden ist eine dargestellt und mit 10 bezeichnet. Die Festelektroden 10 sind über nicht näher gezeigte Hochspannungsanschlüsse 11 mit Zündkerzen in den Zylindern der Brennkraftmaschine verbunden.
