Abstract
The corrosion-resistant mult-pass air preheater has bundles of heater tubes, many of which are in the zone subject to corrosion. The successive passes are connected in series by air-deflection passages. Cold-air supply passages are provided, one containing a preheater for the air flowing through the first pass, while the others are connected by cold-and-warm air mixing devices to the deflection passages in the corrosion area. The mixing devices (4) are built into the deflection passages (3) and form sets of parallel mixing pipes ( 5) with perforation at intervals along them. These pipes are mounted in front of the heater tubes (2) in the respective pass, and are connected to distribution chambers (6) for cold air; in turn connected to the air-supply passages (7, 8).
