Abstract
The wind generation system captures wind in a duct with a large dia. opening and narrows the duct dia. to accelerate the air flow to drive a turbo-generator. The wind flow is collected by a large dia. inlet head (7) which is free to rotate and is orientated towards the wind by wind action on an attached vane (13). The air is carried downwards by ducting (1) supported by struts (9). The reducing dia. of the ducting accelerates the air into a small dia. duct which houses a turbine (6). The turbine drives an electric generator, through redn. gearing if the turbine speed is high enough. The air is then returned to the atmos. via an expanding dia. outlet duct (2), again with a rotating head (8) orientated by a vane (14) so outflowing air emerges in the same direction as the wind.
