Abstract

The connector electrode is intended to be held in an insulating block within a multiway plug. The electrode is a split rolled type and has sprung side arms preventing any rearward movement once inserted in the block. The electrode (1) is formed from rolled strip and has one longitudinal split (11). Side arms (6) are formed by stamping out a 'U' shaped section in the strip before rolling. The open end of the 'U' faces towards the rear such that when the tongues (10) left by the stamping are splayed out they form arms which ultimately bear against a shoulder (9) within the block (7). The arms are displaced from the electrode axis away from the split. Side lugs (4) at the electrode rear prevent forward movement within the block.
