Abstract

The plough with a frame pulled behind a tractor, and extending at an acute angle to the direction of travel, and carrying a large number of ploughshares, has the rear of the frame supported by two wheels (16a, b) as in 2756548. One (16b) of these two wheels can be extended so as to increase or decrease the track width of the two wheels. The wheel is mounted on a stub axle (166) which slides telescopically inside the hollow shaft (167) carrying the two wheels. A spiked strut (164) can be swung over about an axis (165) parallel with the wheel axis (162) from a retracted position to a position engaging the ground, so as to lift the wheel during extension.
