Abstract

The fitting is used to secure the conjunctive bottom corners of double gates at closure. A piece of an approx. L-section with an elongated bar (1a) constitutes the stop (1). It is fixed (1e) to the floor, and locates a latch plate (3) of an approximate 'Y' section. The latch plate arms (3b,3c) subtend a right angle and are side by side when viewed in planes contg. the fulcrum (F). The last gate attaining closure, contacts the upstanding arm (3c) to pivot the latch one quarter turn, causing the trapping of the other gate between the stop stem and the other arm (3b). Latching may be effected by a bolted (4) plate (2) with cranked flaps (2b) engaging leg end lugs.
