Abstract

The coffee dispenser comprises a container of plastic material with stainless steel screws passing through the cylindrical wall. The screws make direct contact with the water to conduct a low current through the water. The screws are connected to a rotary switch which selects a certain number of them according to the volume of water dispensed. The screws are positioned at intervals up the side of the cylinder enabling the water depth to be detected. The water is heated by three resistances housed in copper tubes welded to the base of the dispenser. A thermostat is mounted near the resistances enabling the water to be kept at a temperature of 80-90 deg.C and switching off the heater in the absence of any water. Since the water is heated the pH of the water is not affected, thus providing coffee of a good quality.
