Abstract
The system has a float (90) which can pivot about a fixed horizontal axis (97a) and which drives a cog wheel, coupled to the drive shaft of an electric generator (125). The float (90) is carried by a shaft (97) carrying two floating bodies (102,103) at opposite ends and which are guided by barriers (104,105) mounted on the seabed, extending transverse to the motion of the waves. Pref. both the float (90) and each of the floating bodies (102,103) is rectangular, the barriers (104,105) for the latter having a U-shaped central section enclosing three sides of the respective body (102,103), with side wings (130,131,132,133) projecting out from the central section, for channeling the water towards the central float (90).
