Abstract
Sliding panel has an undulating sheet of dark material mounted between a supporting board of insulating material and a cover of transparent, thermoretractible polyethylene film. Heat trapped by the sheet is carried by channelled convection currents to stones which provide a heatsink for warm air following a serpentine route through a partitioned panel supporting the stones. The energy trap panel pref. can move into posn. across an existing window, opt. may be tilted normal to the local angle of incidence of daylight. The trap panel may be lined with Al film, to reflect infra-red radiation back into the heart of the trap. The oriented polyolefin film is self-tightening to keep the exposed face of the trap plane.
