Abstract

The container is formed from a sheet of material and has a top flange around its edge. The flange is formed so that it has a raised top edge (38) which is clear of the outside of the flange. The flange is formed between dies (16, 27). The container lid consists of a sheet of foil or plastics which is applied and sealed to the top edge of the flange. The containers are supplied in sets joined together by the top flange.
