Abstract

L'invention porte sur la préparation de Fe2O3 pigmentaire à partir de sulfate ferreux résiduaire par un procédé de grillage. Du sulfate ferreux résiduaire est transformé partiellement en oxyde, par grillage. Après élimination des constituants solubles par lavage à l'eau, l'oxyde est soumis à une calcination pigmentaire puis broyé et éventuellement micronisé. Ce procédé conduit à des pigments rouges d'excellente qualité caractérisés notamment par des teintes pures pouvant aller du rouge orangé au rouge violacé. Les prises d'huile sont particulièrement basses. Les teneurs en impuretés toxiques permettent l'utilisation de ces pigments dans les substances alimentaires.
