Abstract

The portable lamp holder comprises a plastics base (4) and an upstanding integral hollow post (5) on which a number of decorative pieces (12, 12') are threaded. A threaded stud (11) is moulded into the upper end of the post (5) and receives a screw threaded bulb holder (13). The decorative pieces (12, 12') are secured in place by a tube (16) which surrounds the bulb holder (13) and the upper end of the post (5) and is gripped between the upper decorative piece (12) and a ring on the bulb holder (13) or lampshade (14), one decorative piece (12, 12') pref. being resilient to take up any free play. The lamp holder is less prone to breakage at the bulb holder (13) because of its more rigid structure.
