Abstract

The power-assisted vehicle steering is used on any vehicle, irrespective of the distance between the driver and the steering wheels and the type of mechanical steering gear. A ram is mounted to allow maximum rod length, while a distributor valve (3) is separate from the ram (14) and connected to it by flexible pipes (13, 15). This aids installation on existing vehicles. The steering has a hydraulic pump with a distributor flow to the flexible pipes.
