Abstract

1432381 Brake pressure pulsating W R PARISH 23 April 1974 [1 Feb 1973] 4990/73 Heading F2F A brake mechanism comprises a brake pedal 1 pivotal about a first axis, a flap 3 pivotally attached to one end of the pedal for pivotal movement about a second and parallel axis, and pulsating means, e.g. an electric motor 5 and a cam 4, located between the pedal and the other end of the flap for producing relative pivotal pulsating movement therebetween about the second axis. The motor may be attached to the pedal 1 as shown or to a vehicle bulkhead. The cam 4 may be operated by electromagnetic, hydraulic or pneumatic means and continuously or only when road conditions, e.g. ice-covered or slippery, require such operation; a switch, e:g. on the steering column is provided for this purpose.
