Abstract

The headlamp for a vehicle includes a reflector (1) with a rim (3) with an outer extension (4) forming a groove (2) with which fits the beaded rim (5) of the diffuser glass or cover (6). This beading is wedge shaped in cross section and fits into the groove with a snap action. In the bottom of the groove is a binding substance (7). The wedge part has a shoulder (111) which is locked inside the groove by an extension (10) of the outer extension ring (4) so that it is retained in position after the latter has been forced open and the rim inserted. In one design, the rim has portions which lock into special pockets in the side of the reflector groove.
