Abstract

1369085 Vehicle lamps RAYDYOT Ltd 20 July 1972 [22 July 1971] 34408/71 Heading F4R A vehicle lamp comprises a casing 10, a lens 12 and, located therebetween, a reflector 11 including two integrally formed channels 20, 24 which open in opposite directions around the outer periphery of the reflector, a rim 21 of the lens 12 being sealably received in one channel 20, and the rim 25 of the casing 10 being received in the other channel 24. Preferably the reflector 11 is injection moulded from resiliently deformable plastics material and the channel 20 is formed by two arcuate converging flanges 16, 17 which sealingly snap-engage the bead 19 of the lens rim 21. A sealant or adhesive may be provided within the channel 20. Alternatively, e.g. when the reflector is formed of a light alloy casting, the bead 19 is a free sliding but snug fit in channel 20 and a resiliently deformable gasket is interposed therebetween to provide the seal. The casing rim 25 may be sealed in the channel 24 and the easing 10 may be more securely fastened to reflector 11 by threaded fasteners engaging tapped bosses 26 integrally formed with the reflector.
