Abstract

The hot and cold water mixing valve for a sanitary installation comprises an adjustable, pressure balanced, thermostat control. The thermostat element is arranged inside a mixer bush and a pressure balancing piston controls axially spaced radial inlet ports for cold and hot water. The ports are arranged in a cylindrical housing which co-axially contains the bush so as to leave an annular space in which the sleeve-shaped piston is axially slidable. The piston sleeve has radial ports capable of registering with the housing ports and is in metallic sealing engagement with housing and bush.
