Abstract

Such a valve has a housing (1) with ports (2, 3) for hot and cold water and a mixed-water outlet (4). As seals use is made of two annular diaphragms (19, 21) which are clamped in the housing (1) by means of inserts (17, 20) and between which there is a control piston (31) which is actuated by an element (15) made of expanding material and in which the inner edge of one diaphragm (21) is clamped. This arrangement reduces the friction and hence the wear on the diaphragm (21) and the actuating force required for the control piston (31).
