Abstract

The housing (12) of the valve (11) has openings (21 to 23) for connection to a pressure source and to a working element and to the pressure-medium discharge. The openings (21 to 23) can be connected to one another selectively by moving internal valve parts (46). In the rest position, the internal valve parts (46) connect the working opening (21) to the pressure opening (23). They can be replaced by a second set of internal valve parts which, in the rest position connect the working opening to the discharge opening. In both cases, the internal valve parts (46) are designed and arranged relative to the openings (21 to 23) in the valve housing (12) in such a way that, when the valve switches over, the closure of the connection of the pressure opening or discharge opening and the working opening is complete before the opening of the connection between the discharge opening or pressure opening and the working opening begins. The use of a unitary valve housing for both valve functions reduces the cost of manufacture and stockholding. <IMAGE>
