Abstract

The retractable urinal bowl (4) occupies a position above the pan (1) of a conventional flushable w.c. being designed for use by males without spray contamination of the seat zones, and utilising flush (5) and outfall (7) pipes to form two opposed sides of a folding parallelogram frame cantilever support. When retracted the bowl may occupy vertical position (8) above the header tank (3) with its internal surfaces facing a wall. The cleansing water supply is cut off whilst the outfall pipe remains operative. When deployed, the bowl may be provided with a constant or an intermittent feed of cleansing water, provided under gravity from the header tank, and if required controlled by valving etc.
