Abstract
The overload protection circuit has an mAs relay to determine the duration of the interval between exposures. A current proportional to the X-ray tube's current passes via a changeover switch to an integrator. A comparator compares the integrator's output with a reference voltage and operates a relay that disables the next X-ray exposure and simultaneously disconnects the reference voltage and operates the changeover switch. This sequence of events causes the integrator to receive an auxiliary current, of the opposite polarity to the tube current, at the end of the exposure. This auxiliary current depends on data relating to the previous exposure and is applied until the integrator is fully cleared. The relay then allows the next exposure to take place.
