Abstract
1514851 X-ray exposure control SIEMENS AG 8 Jan 1976 [2 May 1975] 00706/76 Heading G1A Apparatus comprising a film-holder 2 for use in a mouth 1 and an x-ray source 7 directable at a patient, includes a radiation detector and wireless transmitter 4 attached to the film-holder 2, and a wireless receiver 5, 12 and control system 10, 11, 14 with the source for terminating an exposure at a predetermined level. A direct x-ray detector, or a photo-sensor 18, Fig. 2, faced with a phosphor layer 17 behind the film, signals the x-ray intensity to an amplifier 19, integrator 20 and comparator 21 which, when a predetermined amount of radiation, settable by a manual reference 22, is attained, turns off a wireless transmitter 23 which has previously been turned on manually at 25. The exposure, started by a manual switch 13, Fig. 1, is stopped by the opening of a switch 14 when the receiver 12 no longer receives the wireless signal. In a simpler embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the transmitter (23) sends a signal directly representing the radiation intensity, the integrator and comparator then being disposed in the receiver.
