Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé s'appliquant d'une façon générale au domaine de la microbiologie, dans lequel une culture est soumise à des périodes de disponibilité et d'indisponibilité d'une source essentielle d'énergie telle qu'une source de carbone, c'est-à-dire que la source d'énergie est fournie par pulsations. Le rendement de la culture dans la conversion du carbone du substrat en carbone cellulaire varie en fonction de la durée relative des périodes de disponibilité et d'indisponibilité de la source d'énergie. Selon la durée relative choisie, le procédé peut être appliqué différemment, c'est-à-dire que lorsque le rendement est elevé, le procédé convient pour la production d'une simple protéine cellulaire, tandis que lorsqu'il est faible, il convient pour le traitement d'une eau résiduaire.
