Abstract

The method is designed for the fabrication of multicore electric cables enclosed in a thermoplastic protective sheath by means of an extruder. The continuous fabrication of the cable is ensured at high speed by feeding directly the extruder from at least a multiple wiredrawing unit. Thus a cable is produced have wires parallel to the core. The speed of the cable at the output of the extruder has a range from normal to twice the maximum speed obtained classical method of wire winding for the same cable section. At least one multiple wiredrawer an annealer and a speed compensation system are used. There is a drawing capstan, a guidance element and an extruder. A twisting element is arranged at the input and/or the output of the extruder.
