Abstract
Procédé de fabrication d'éléments optiques en verre consistant à faire circuler un mélange de vapeurs formatrices de verre dans un tube-substrat cylindrique creux allongé, à chauffer ce tube-substrat qui contient le mélange de vapeurs à l'aide d'une source de chaleur qui se déplace longitudinalement par rapport à ce tube afin d'établir dans ce dernier une zone chaude dans laquelle est créée une suspension de matériau en particules, au moins une partie de cette suspension circulant vers l'aval où au moins une partie demeure sur la paroi du tube pour y former un dépôt continu de verre, on fait circuler un courant de gaz n'altérant pas les propriétés de l'élément optique à travers la zone axiale du tube-substrat 52 dans sa zone chaude 54, afin de confiner la circulation du mélange de vapeurs dans un canal annulaire à l'écart de l'axe longitudinal du tube et adjacent à sa paroi, pour accroître le rendement de la réaction engendrée dans le mélange de vapeurs. Application à la fabrication de filaments de guide d'onde optique.
