Abstract

Une jambe de suspension 10 du type MacPherson est combinée à un ressort pneumatique 38 à lobe roulant, pour former une suspension de véhicule, une manchette tubulaire en élastomère 39 est fixée à son extrémité supérieure à un chapeau 43 fixé lui-même, par des liaisons démontables, sur la tige 28 du piston d'un amortisseur, qui émerge au-dessus du boîtier 12 de la jambe de suspension. L'extrémité inférieure de cette manchette est fixée à un fourreau 50 qui est simplement monté de manière démontable sur un support tubulaire 56 monté sur le tube réservoir de la jambe. Le fourreau 50 peut présenter une surface externe profilée à diamètre variable, pour guider le ressort pneumatique à lobe et coopérer avec lui pour donner à la suspension une constante de ressort variable. Le ressort pneumatique peut facilement être remplacé par un autre, soit pour les maintenances, soit pour remplacer le ressort d'origine par un autre possédant une constante différente.
