Abstract

The damper has a rectangular frame (19) fitting in the flue, and a central spindle fitted with end bushes (13) to carry the damper plate. The spindle is connected to an electric motor (17) through a gearbox (18) so that the damper may be controlled from the burner output. The plate is fitted with a rib perpendicular to the plate along one edge, to accelerate the closing of the damper at high flue gas velocities. The lower part of the plate has counterweights (14) to maintain it in the vertical position.
