Abstract
L'appareil selon la présente invention comprend un émetteur de lumière 10 projetant des faisceaux lumineux de longueurs d'onde courtes sur la bande A en cours de coulée, les faisceaux réfléchis étant reçus par un détecteur 11 à travers un filtre. Une enceinte 18 entoure le faisceau de lumière s'étendant entre l'émetteur 10 et le détecteur 11, des jets d'air comprimé étant envoyés à travers cette enceinte pour chasser tout corps susceptible de gêner la propagation des faisceaux lumineux. Les signaux du détecteur sont traités par un dispositif de mémorisation d'image et l'image est visualisée sur un récepteur de télévision de surveillance sur lequel un opérateur peut déceler immédiatement les criques ou défauts de surface analogues affectant la surface de la bande métallique.
