Abstract

L'application d'au moins une couche biréfringente dans un réflecteur multicouche d'un laser à décharge dans un gaz permet d'obtenir une différence tellement grande en réflexion de la lumière polarisée linéairement dans deux directions perpendiculaires entre elles, que le laser n'engendre de la lumière à polarisation linéaire à 100 % que dans une seule direction. Dans l'autre direction, la réflexion ne suffit pas pour obtenir une émission stimulée. Application : Production de lumière polarisée.
