Abstract

L'appareil pour refroidir des barres laminées à chaud comporte un conduit 1 muni d'un couvercle amovible. Une masse d'eau 10 est enfermée dans le conduit 1 par des rideaux d'eau 17, 18, 19 dirigés vers le bas et créés par des buses 14, 15, 16. Pour que la masse d'eau soit convenablement confinée et pour que la barre en se déplaçant n'entraîne pas d'eau avec elle, le couvercle du conduit est divisé en sections 6, 7, 8, 9 séparées par des fentes 12, 13 s'étendant sur la totalité de la largeur du canal. Des buses 14, 15, 16 d'injection sous haute pression dirigent les rideaux d'eau à travers ces fentes, de sorte que les rideaux couvrent la totalité de la largeur du canal. La section centrale 7 de couvercle au-dessus de masse d'eau comporte des ouvertures 7a qui permettent à l'eau de s'échapper rapidement. Application : refroidissement en sidérurgie.
