Abstract

The h.v. line consists of three phase conductors supported inside a steel tube filled with SF6 at 4 bar. The steel tube is surrounded by a concrete block that acts as a heat exchanger. Heat removing tubes are embedded in the concrete and carry a gas or liquid, e.g. water or oil, that removes the heat from the concrete. These heat removing tubes are made of steel, ceramic or asbestos cement and, where more than one h.v. line is embedded in the concrete, are situated symmetrically between the h.v. lines and have the same thermal conductivity to avoid hot spots.
