Abstract

Dans un appareil destiné à décoder une séquence d'entrée d'éléments de code constituant des mots de code de longueur variable sélectionnés dans un jeu de ces mots de code, la séquence d'entrée est appliquée à un registre d'entrée 20. Une première mémoire 30 stocke les mots de code provenant du jeu dans les lignes correspondantes, une seconde mémoire 32 servant de mémoire de masquage stockant des mots définissant la longueur des mots de code stockés correspondants. Le contenu du registre d'entrée 20 est comparé par des portes logiques 38 au contenu de la première mémoire sous le contrôle de la mémoire de masquage, un signal de sortie émis par les portes logiques 38 indiquant la ligne contenant le mot de code designé. Le signal de sortie positionne un étage d'un registre de sortie 40.
